Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings and tours provided by Wild Andes Tours (“Wild Andes”, “we”, “us”). By booking a tour with us or paying a deposit, you (“the client”) confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms on behalf of everyone in your party.

1. Bookings & payment

  • A 50% non-refundable security deposit is required to secure your tour. Your booking is only confirmed once we have received this deposit.
  • The remaining 50% balance may be paid at any time up to two (2) weeks before the departure date. For bookings made less than two weeks before departure, full payment is due at the time of booking.
  • Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD). Payments are processed securely through PayPal. Any bank, card or currency-conversion fees are the client's responsibility.

2. Cancellations & refunds

If you need to cancel, the following applies:

  • The 50% security deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, as it secures your date and covers advance arrangements.
  • If the tour is cancelled less than one (1) week before the departure date, the second 50% is also non-refundable — no reimbursement of the remaining balance will be made.
  • If you cancel one (1) week or more before departure, any amount paid above the 50% deposit will be refunded.

Refunds, where applicable, are issued via the original PayPal payment. Date changes are subject to availability and, where possible, we will always try to reschedule rather than cancel.

3. Changes or cancellation by us

In the rare event that we must cancel a tour due to circumstances within our control, you may choose a full refund (including the deposit) or to reschedule at no extra cost. We may adjust itineraries, routes or timings for reasons of safety, weather, road or site conditions, or to improve your birding experience.

4. Weather, wildlife & sightings

Our tours take place in wild, natural environments. While our guides have deep local knowledge and target the species you most want to see, wildlife is unpredictable and specific species can never be guaranteed. Adverse weather, sea conditions (for pelagic trips) or unforeseen access issues may require changes; no refund is due for conditions outside our control once a tour is underway.

5. Health, fitness & responsibility

Some tours involve early starts, uneven terrain, boat travel or high altitude. It is the client's responsibility to ensure they are in suitable health and to inform us of any medical conditions, dietary needs or mobility limitations at the time of booking. Clients take part at their own risk and must follow the guide's instructions at all times.

6. Travel insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients hold comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation and personal belongings for the duration of their trip.

7. Liability

Wild Andes Tours acts in good faith and takes all reasonable care to deliver a safe, high-quality experience. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, injury, illness, delay or damage arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, natural events, mechanical failure, or the acts of third-party suppliers.

8. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Any consumer complaint may also be recorded in our Libro de Reclamaciones.
